An African supergroup comprising personnel elements of some of Africa's greatest bands ( Such as Fela Kuti's Egypt 80, Koffi Olomide's Quartier Latin and Tabu Ley's Afrisa to name a few)- with it's material covering a variety of styles (though retaining basic roots in African Rhythmic structure)- from mellow Folk ballads to high octane Tribal chant.
Band/artist history
The band (formerly called The Rhythm Project) was formed in Lagos, Nigeria in 1995 by Nigerian Solicitor/Multi-Instrumentalist Edward Emeka Keazor as a vehicle for exercising his musical ideas and steadily grew around the Lagos area into an important force in the Afro- Jazz scene culminating in 1999 with the band performing at the World Football Championships in a memorable concert.Elements of the and also supported the seminal Nigerian Funk Group- The Funkees in their reunion concerts at the Jazz Cafe and Brighton Festival this year. The band in the same year adopted it's present name and has just concluded recording of it's first album-Southern Hemisphere Soul which is due for release at the end of the year and hope to fulfil some performances in the U.S.A and the U.K in promotion of the album.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play live, in several venues in London and Lagos Nigeria.A special moment has to be the Great Highlife Party "The Elders Forum" in Lagos, Nigeria in October this year, in which we featured alongside the greats of West African Highlife, such as Fatai Rolling Dollar, Alaba Pedro, Chris Ajilo and remnants of the late Roy Chicago's band. We also enjoyed featuring as part of the Funkees Reunion concerts at the Jazz Cafe and the Brighton Festival.

With dulcet tones like these is it any wonder the female audience can't keep their clothes on! What is only the "Reduced Ikenga" gigging on a Friday Night? Us groupies would love to see the full McCoy ECK!!!
WOW!! I love African music!! You guys have amazing voices as well!!
Cyndee, electric violin
"mushin blues"
I love the music in this song. The lead vocal is great except for the effect on it. I am a producer so I can hear the true take underneath it. I just have never like the pitch corrector. It sounds very fake to me. The songs wins me over despite this because a good song always wins.
