Welcome to the wonderfully arbitrary world of Seven Year Kismet. I am your host Richard Kane, lead vocalist/lyricist/webhead/business guy thing. Alongside me stands bassist, backing vocalist and business cohort Shannon Welby, Jack Price on lead guitar, Simon Lodder on rhythm guitar, Luke Sonne on drums and Dan Baker on keyboard. A young, vibrant, mutated crew of individuals with but one goal; to metal the freak out. Oh yes. In case you were wondering we're not the most serious of crews but our music is deadly serious indeed. We've had two shows set up by myself and Shannon, both charity affairs at a local pub to raise cashola for Cancer Research UK. Both shows have been very special, not just because of the cause but because of the reactions and respect. It seems we're garnering somewhat of a local following, which is what we were aiming for. Now with our (albeit cheap and somewhat incomplete) demo done we can look beyond this dang blasted island and hopefully convert a few more SYKophants...
We have so many influences it's uncanny. From Testament to 3 Doors Down, Soulfly to Black Label Society, Fear Factory to Gary Moore... quite the melting pot.
