Bootywine was formed by Sam Latham, Huntley and Jordi Osborne, half of the notorious V for Life, in late 2005 in the scummy parts of Surrey.
After the split of V for Life the people of Epsom feared that they may never again hear the distinctive sounds that brought so many people close together until August of 2005 when Sam and Huntley announced that they had both been writing new material. This stirred rumours throughout the land that there could be some sort of V for Life return.
Months had passed when the trio admitted to secretly practicing in the legendary “Hall of Practice” where so many V for Life songs were created. The band, the known as Rural Revolt, announced a new “mature” sound that is 10 times better than the old band. With such inspiration as Placebo and Pixies the band has managed to come up with a mixture of Indie and Punk creating unstoppable aggression and energy. The band were making good progress writing songs left, right and centre but was definitely missing something, a bass! The band, now with their current name, searched high and low for the write person for the job, having meetings with such greats as Nik Williams, who Huntley is close with, but all candidates could either not commit or just couldn’t be bothered. Then they found the answer right under their noses with a mate called Stuart who had been playing bass for about four years but could never be bothered to practiced. After letting down the band on several occasions, Stuart finally made it to a practice and picked up the songs surprisingly quick. Then there were four! The band are currently working on material for their debut album and have just recorded their first live demo.
We are planning to start gigging later this year
Musical influences range from Placebo to the pixies as well as indy and grunge bands.
