1970's punk/new wave Uk pioneers Gobblinz soon to release a new CD of unreleased tracks via NAT records in Tokyo. Tracks here recorded in 1997 reunion gig at Peterborough Beer Festival plus one unreleased 1977 recording to be featured on NAT records CD in 2006
Formed in 1975 in Peterborough UK Gobblinz were Dave Colton (bass lead vocals) Ian Graham (Guitar lead Vocals), Chris Allen (keyboards,vocals), Steve Dunmore (Drums). All had spent several years playing clubs and pubs in a previous band but with Ians songwriting they decided to change direction and went into Beck Studios Wellingborough in 1976 to recorded a demo. The band soon got signed by Pinnacle and their first release 'London' sold well. However after a management split the Band recorded the 'Communique' EP which is now one of the most sought after 7" new wave releases. Included here is the intro from John Peel when he played it in 1977. Ian went on to form mod favourites 'The Name' in 1979 with dave joining a few month later. The band signed to virgin offshoot label Dindisc in 1979. Dave went on to produce 80's punk band 'The Destructors'and has just completed two CD's (playing guitar) with founder member Allen Adams under the name of Destructors 666.

The Who, The Jam, Elvis Costello (Ian's), Led Zepplin (Ian and Dave). Chris was always into prog rock which was why the bands sound was a strange mix of stuff!
Ian used an Aria Pro II guitar Marshall 1X12 Rock and Roll Baby 100watt combo, Dave - rickenbaker 4001 bass with Hi watt DR103 (still got it!)and EV cab, Chris used a Wurlitzer piano and EP10 synth. Steve had a big white premier kit. Now Ian uses a Marshall 50watt valve combo with a Les Paul and Dave plays a stock Fender Jazz bass with an Ampeg SVT3 head and Fender 4X10 cab
