Hello, my name is Emery Carl. Welcome to my little secret hideout on the web. Thanks for stopping by. As any good host would do I'd like to offer you something to drink but you'll have to get it yourself. Let's see, what I CAN provide is a chance to hear almost all of my music. Stick around and we can jam until the wee hours of the morning.
Band/artist history
I have been performing as a singer/songwriter/performer in Seattle WA for over 6 years now. You may have seen this show outside of such venues as: The Show Box, The Paramount, The Moore, Fifth Avenue, Key Arena, Safeco Field, Quest Stadium, Pike Place Market, Pacific Place, and Westlake Center or perhaps at a street fair or festival like Bumbershoot, Oregon Country Fair, or the Pike Market Buskers' Festival, maybe the Freemont Parade or in the University District on the Ave? I have also performed at most open mics and on every college campus in town. What drives me to reflect? to write? to perform? pour it out on the streets!? You can follow my journey, complete with brutally honest times of success and failure at as I search to find a balance in the pursuit of Life, Love, and the essence of Being.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
From the "Street to the Stage". I love to perform. The Busker's (street performer's) motto is: "Ready to play at the drop of a hat". You have to be a bit of an attention whore and performance junkie to do this. The last few years have been filled with many special moments such as getting tipped by Tom Waits, meeting Ben Harper, Beck, G. Love, when kids dance, when girls walk by and ignore me . . . then I catch them looking back, HA!, I love that. I love the spontaneity of the street and the energy of the stage. Keep an eye on my website's calendar for upcoming shows.
Your musical influences
Everything I've ever heard really, good or bad. Life's experiences. Folk, Funk, Blues, Rock, Latin, Pop with a little Reggae, Country, Heavy Metal on the side.
What equipment do you use?
Hula Hoops, Acoustic Guitars, harmonica, shakers, and a bit of wit for the street. When it comes to the stage I'll play anything I can get my hands on. In the studio I record with a Shure KSM44 condenser microphone, into a Mac with Logic Pro 7 software.
