Flash back to the eighties when Michael Jackson was in his prime and Madonna likened herself to a virgin, there began the dream for a young Miss Browne. Singing in front of the mirror with Top of the Pops in the background is a moment most would emphatically deny doing but Miss Browne openly admits to it, and further claims to be being highly influenced by chart music. After her initial performances in front of the mirror she propelled to school variety shows where she began developing herself as a singer song writer. She was always eager to perform, and even recalls running around trying to organize her own little music show with her friends. At college the dream of becoming a singer really began to materialize and she adopted the stage name Genie to complement her alter ego. As a performing arts student her singing and song writing skills were further improved and as a bonus she trained as an actress, later staring in BBC dramas. In terms of music college was were she really started to come into her element establishing herself as a artist writing, singing, acting and, even producing music. College involved a lot of collaborations and Genie (as she was known then) made a lot of long term links from singers to rappers to dancers. After leaving college Genie continued her pursuit of a music career by exploring various routes even a stint with gospel alliance Nu Star where she helped create the song 'God is Love' which got non stop air play on gospel radio stations and CHOICE FM, all the while writing and recording material trying to establish a buzz by performing at various locations around London. She has since developed a fantastic stage presence performing at the MILLENNIUM DOME: WEST HAM AND TWICKENHAM FOOTBALL GROUNDS, THE OCEAN, STRATFORD CIRCUS and, THE URBAN MUSIC SEMINAR (to name a few). 2004 marked the transition from Genie to Ms Brown, a talented and experienced singer/songwriter, with a wide vocal range and an accurate ear for harmonies. She also writes for other artists. Ms Brown is currently working with 2AM PRODUCTIONS and 'TOP CAT' on a project which is being considered for release. More imminent is a collaborative effort on The Saint Anthonys Freebie mix-tape, Ms brown not only lends her talents as a vocalist but also as an mc on the single visionary. Her most recent venture has been joining JPM records where her eagerly awaited EP Artistry minus boundaries will be developed and released. On the business side of it she is in search for a publishing and distribution deal while she continues to do performances expanding her fan base and establishing more of a buzz. As a singer/songwriter, producer and actress Ms Brown is definitely an artist to look out for. Watch this space.
