Cotton (Arkansas)

Comes a Time
Kind of an intro song for the Cotton album, and one of the first songs that we wrote and played together, it speaks for itself. N

Flying
Written by myself and John, sitting in the front yard, first the music, and then a metaphor in lyrics of a higher being freeing us of the bonds of gravity and mortality.

High Mountain
Simply inspired by the beauty and peace of Pinnacle Mountain, outside of Fayetteville, where we spent time together, wrote, and recorded our music.

Monday's Dawning
You'd have to check with the author, John, to get the real story. But my take is, it's a song of discovering yourself and who you are within the context of your family, your love, and your friends.

Bittersweet
This is John and I just letting it happen, with acoustic six and twelve strings.

Breath of Spring
A somewhat jazzy tune for us, John wrote this one. I think it's about the frailty and vulnerability of relationships. But his was worth the challenge!

Hitchhiking Angels
The mystical side of music and life on the road, and the women in our lives.

In Time
John wrote this one. One of the best tunes I've heard of the magical time spent with the one you love, in-between and separate from normal time.

In Your Eyes
Another simple song, this one of new found love, and helping each other reach beyond the past to look to the future.

Little Soul
A song of the wonder and miracle of the birth of a child, in this case John's daughter Brooke, written by him as only a father can.

That's Why I Need You
Another song about myself and my wife before we were married. In contrast to 'In Your Eyes', this time I'm the vulnerable one.

Boone County Courthouse Blues
Ron's brother had some hard times in Boone County, Arkansas. This is an account of his desire to be free, vs the counties desire to keep him down.

Searchin' for Home
Ron Sullivan at his best. A physical journey, and a metaphorical search for himself.
