RCV tha MC has been in the Vancouver Hip-Hop scene for seven years now. Growing up, Hip-Hop music has always been around him. At the age of six his dad brought home the first rap album he recalls listening to, Warren G's "Regulate". From then on he was hooked, growing up on guys like Bone Thugs -n- Harmony, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., the Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, DMX, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and Mobb Deep. At the age of twelve, he wrote his first rhymes in the form of poetry for his English class, and eventually they would turn into raps. Over the years RCV has seen and expierenced many things in his young life, growing up in East Vancouver taught him how to be a man. From his Grandmother passing away, to becoming a Christian, to being a Project Garage 05' finalist, performing in front of a crowd of three hundred, and many other events that has shaped him into what he is today. "Man me and my best friend got jumped by thirty dudes in an alley, I been arrested and spent a day in a cell, had guns pointed in my face, dropped out of high school, and evicted.....Damn man straight up, I don't know what I haven't seen or expierenced, all I know is that my expierences have made me a stronger and smarter person. I just hope someone can learn from what has happened to me, and strive for it not to happen to them. I'm not saying I'm hardcore, or I'm a gangsta or anything like that. I'm just like everyone else that has to struggle, and that's who I make music for. Anyone that can relate to my struggle this is for you." RCV is a student of the game, studying the greats, and showing respect to the past. "You don't know where you are going, if you don't know where you came from." RCV stands for Ryan Christian Ventura, his full name. So on the mic he is no gimmick, only himself. Hungry, determined, and chrismatic, he prides himself in bringing a high energy, and up tempo flow. Idolizing and modeling himself, after MC's Sticky Fingaz, Guru, and Royce Da 5'9. All though his style is original, he credits them for helping him give him his swagger. He is the founder of indpendent label Rejected Arts.
