Lord Devious (aka Julian Ritz) has stayed a relevant name in underground music for the past 14 years. With many titles, this music phenom is an asset to not only his label (UNPRDCTBL) but to hip hop in general. Making music out of his home studio, Ritz has mastered the art of sound and always provides quality sounding material. On stage since he was 14, he is no stranger to live performances either. With nearly 300 shows under his belt, he commands the crowds attention and provides people with not only live music but an experience. LD started out making music when he was 14 in the hip hop duo known as the CHRIST LIKE POETS. Touring all over Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois he was able to learn the fundamentals of being an artist. To this day he credits his partner, and longtime friend Joe Jackson for teaching him about music. The CLP parted ways in order for Ritz to concentrate on school and sports. Sophomore year, the stage called oce again as he became the frontman for "Not Yet Rated" a rap/rock band. The experience taught him alot about how sounds came together to make beats and melodies. WIth his heart belonging to hip hop....it was not long before he set out for the first time to make music as a solo artist. Hooking up with Jackson again, the two created a sound for the first album that was original and allowed Devious to showcase his lyrical ability. Music took a backseat in Ritzs life for a long time, as he struggled in life trying to make ends meet. Bouncing from job to job, the only time he thought of music was when he had time to write in his notebook at the end of the day. Using his words as therapy to express what he was going through became easier for him and would turn into the basis for what would later turn into drawing power. Just living life was the only thing on his mind in 2004. Experiencing firsthand the ups and downs that so many before him had rapped about. With a child on the way, the once young mc was gaining street knowledge that could only be lived. Now with a family to take care of....he had a new motivation to turn his hobby into a career. Ritz took what little he had and invested it in a small home studio....consisting of just a mic, a desktop mixer, and a free mixing program, he was determined to make a name for himself once again. He produced a few local artists while he also worked on his solo material in his free time. In this time he was able to master the art of sound, learning how it worked so that he could create studio quality sound with what little he had. No one was willing to help, and he knew that if something was going to happen he had to make it happen. In 2010, Ritz hooked up with STUNN DAFUTURE, a Houston based artist bound and determined to resurrect the music scene in southwest Kansas. Together, along with a few other locals they were able to give hip hop a pulse which led to shows with such artists as DO OR DIE, LOW G, RASHEED, NB RYDAS, CHINGO BLING, LIL FLIP and more! Today, Lord Devious better known as J.Ritz belongs to UNPRDCTBL PRODUCTIONS, an indie label out of HOUSTON, TX and plans on hitting 2012 with a landslide of nothing but hot shit.
