A native of Washington, D.C., a Howard University alumnus, and a BMI Songwriter and Publisher, Regina Blackburn appeared on Montgomery Community Medias Ram Jam Television Show in the fall of 2013 to discuss music and promote her song WHEN WE WERE IN LOVE. Earlier this year, her song TUNNEL VISION was included on the Love & Life Stories cd of the legendary funk band Fathers Children. Her music was also played on the London-based internet radio show RAMJAM Radio in December, 2013. Also in that same month, she achieved semi- finalist placement with the Song Of The Year Contest with her song WHEN WE WERE IN LOVE. In 2010, Regina self-published her first novel, entitled DIVIDED THEY FALL. In that same year, her music began appearing on Apple's Itunes/US and Itunes Europe with her cd ITS ALWAYS A GUY. Her music has also appeared in a feature film that was released in the spring of 2010, as well as an overseas investment commercial which covered her music. Regina Blackburn was the featured guest on WMET's "The Heather Taylor Show" in May 2008. A six-time recipient of the prestigious Billboard Magazine Songwriting Contest, Honorable Mention Award, Regina's music began airing on London's BlueskyFM radio in 2007. 2006 ushered in the daily playing of her music on her local news station in Washington, D.C. for six consecutive months. In March 2005, Regina was the featured artist on WPFW's "Spirit in Action" program. November, 2004 brought her an Honorable Mention Award in the Songwriter's Assoc. of Washington Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest. In October 2004, her music played during a segment of The TODAY Show. In July 2004, she placed as a finalist in the VH-1 sponsored Song of the Year.Com. Songwriting Contest. During the day, Regina is a television technician with a media outlet, but when the programs fade to black, she shines as an artist with a very special style. She won a Merit Award in the UNISONG International Song Contest of 2003, and a 2nd place winner in Nashville Tennessee's Enormous Records Songwriting Contest of 2002. Her music can also be heard on various clients' websites. Reginas songwriting style has been praised by many in the music business. My goals are: to write for current and up-and-coming artists, to have my music heard in tv/film/radio projects regularly, and give a flawless Grammy speech after my name is called!
