OK, I figured it was time for an update. Blind Snoopy is now 49! I have been learning guitar for a solid year now and this is basically my homework page. Nothing of real value on her for anybody but other beginners as this all stuff from my guitar lessons and really isn't fit for human consumption. I am still learning to play and sing, really working on learning something about recording but of course all this stuff is quite rough, done at home on a PC. It's here only for critique and education, mine and my friends on the beginners forums I frequent...
Band/artist history
I'm a Grampa, ask me to show you pictures of my Grandkids sometimes. I have always loved to sing but never really was a musician of any kind. I always wanted to be but life got in the way and I just couldn't find the time. I decided to find it anyway and Blind Snoopy was on the loose. I have had a blast becoming a musician, granted, not a good musician, yet, but I make music now so i guess it still counts.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have done 6 open mic performances so far, it was a blast and also part of the learning process. If you want to learn music you have to play music for somebody else. If you don't it's only half done. Music doesn't work without someone to play and someone to listen, same as talking. It's simply a means of communication in it's best form so if you are always singing and playing all by yourself you aren't really communicating and that sort of misses the point. I did the First Open Mic on My 6 month anniversary of playing guitar, it was an absolute blast but really scary. Give it a try if you haven't already, too much fun for practically nothing...
Your musical influences
I have a cool looking electric guitar and the pics on my songs show these but I play almost all acoustic stuff. I don't even try to copy anybody else and in fact seem to have a really hard time using the same melody and words that were original to a song, much less the riffs arrangement. Any semblance of Blind Snoopy's stuff to real music is purely coincidental
What equipment do you use?
I have some guitars now, they aren't very good but they are guitars. I have a 1932 Martin 0-18K but it's probably the only one from that era that seems to be pretty much worthless to anyone but me. I generally play a Martin X series guitar made out of wood colored HPL, a formica like product. Sound potential from this guitar is still pretty much unused so i ain't complaining...
Anything else?
If you are interested in learning to play guitar go for it! Don't wait until you are old and grizzled like me, do it now! In a year or so you could be annoying your family members and folks on the beginners forums all over the world just like me. If you do it you really should pick out a cool name though. It worked for me and Sting. I know it's only a stage name but lots of my regular friends and even family members call me Snoopy now so my insidious plan is working...

Good stuff BSR
HEY BSR, HOW IN THE WORLD HAVE YOU BEEN, GREAT SONG MY FRIEND. KEEP WRITING 'EM LIKE THAT AND I'LL BE ABLE TO SAY, I KNEW HIM ON SOUNDCLICK WHEN HE WAS JUST STARTING OUT. GREAT LYRICS AND GUITAR WORK ON THE FIRST OF MANY I'M SURE. GOD BLESS YOU, RKWOLFORD
Thanks for having a listen, this was sure fun to do, my Grandkids were listening on Christmas eve
"Random BSR Instrumental" is pretty ambitious. I know you're still learning, but you actually get really good tone on the lead part.
Keep on taking it as far as it will go, John. You're already a lot better than when you first got here, and the willingness to take chances is the true hallmark of a musician.

I stopped by to see if you've added anything new... This song is one of my favorites of yours.
