In my opinion, all musicians are ministers. The question is what are they ministers of? There are some who are ministers of "the hustle" or self reliance, and there are some who are ministers of Lust and perversion. Still others are ministers of destruction and desolation. Me, I am a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Being a minister of the Gospel, live is necessary. I could record the music and have you play it in your stereos and feel good for a time. But that isn't enough. This is because the point isn't to entertain or to have something cool to hear. This Gospel has the porpose of changing a life, fixing a thing born broken. That can only be done through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Live performance is the best way to introduce the lost to the Savior.
When you want to match two people up for a love connection, the best way is to get the three of you in a room together and introduce them two each other and explain why they'd be good together. That's what I try to do.
