Since the age of 5, Brie was brought into the world of entertainment. Beginning with dance, singing, and acting; she focused a lot of her attention into finding out more about this great establishment. She hung out a lot of times with different DJ's and at different record stores. Writing everyday Brie felt that it was ready to get these words on a record. When she entered college she took up a MIDI class and began perfecting her craft. Brie wrote and produced her own music and was asked to open for a hip-hop section in her college spring concert. Some say that her sound is similar to Missy Elliot or Lil Kim. They are female rappers that she looks up to, but considers her style and sound unique. Shes been rapping since about the age of 11 and haven't stopped yet. Her future plan is to be a successful rapper touring all over the world. Brie invites people into the soul and world that she has created within her music. Brie knows that money plays a huge part in her career, which is not the reason why she entertains. Her brother once asked me, what would she rather have fame or money? Her answer was fame. Having people recognize and admire you because of your music is one of the greatest feelings in the world. It makes this job of being an entertainer worth it.
At age 5, BRIE began taking dance and singing lessons at the Bay View Opera's House in San Francisco. Here she would take on the study of Ballet, Jazz, African, and Hip-Hop dance. She would also gain knowledge in the fields of voice with the Young Gifted and Childrens Choir. With her parents noticing her talents they began entering her in competitions. Such competitions included the Citywide Oratorical Contest in which she won first place for singing and spoken word. Later on in 6th grade at Martin Luther King Middle School she found a new love. She found Hip-Hop and her joy for rapping. Practicing her gift she would battle fellow classmates in which she thought to herself why not take this thing to the next level. When she entered High School she began writing her own lyrics. Finally in college she took a MIDI class and was able to lay down tracks and produce her own music. BRIE has been through different stages in her life and is ready to take her music career to the next level.
Yes! The last time she performed live was in February at Skyline College in San Bruno; CA. "Being on that stage makes you feel so alive. It's like your a magician and the crowd is under your spell. I love being on stage; I thrive off of it."
My musical influences include Destiny's Child, Temptations, Sam Cooke, Lil' Kim, and Missy Elliot, Lil' Wayne, Supremes, and Busta Rhymes. Even though she didn't do music Rosa Parks is a great influence musically. Sister Parks gives me courage to make it in this world and to not let anyone stand in my way.
