Band/artist history
Starting in 2005 as a hobby between neighborhood friends DJ Juice, Okilla, Catdaddy Chris, Goofy, and Ka$h rapping became a lifestyle and vocalized the struggle of a youth in the hood. Originally using DJ Juice's bedroom as a studio the group then moved to O Killa's basement because the size of the group outgrew the space capacity. After the move DJ Juice then went abroad to recruit up and coming rappers from the area. The crew now was Northside Quil, LP, and Trill along with the original five. Another freestyle turned into a week long session which conceived the first official mixtape "Northside G's" with street bangin tracks "Lay You Down feat. Neicy", "Demons", "Hit 'Em" and "Last Night". The mixtape of the groups' freestyles over an array of beats caused a major buzz in the hip-hop underground. With members in 3 different high schools( North, Northwest, And Central) in Omaha hustling the mixtape, it wasn't long before word caught wind to local publications. Northside Quil was interviewed after the mixtapes release by Central Newspaper, The Register, when he said " It's too hard hard being fake so just keep it real." That saying is the one that the JKC Productions goes by today. 2006 was the year of expansion of the JKC. The roster had linked in due to tha additon of Yung Gutta, the brother of Trill. Northside QUil stayed in the studio and delivered his first Mixtape Quarantine: The Sickest Alive. With the hit tracks "Been Where I Been Ft. O Killa" and "Cyanide." Tracks that continued to point more ears to the JKC camp because of the lyricism that seperated them from tha average rapper. Also O Killa produced tha song "Packin Tha Mack Ft. R Millsz And TC From Deadly Alliance" which soon became the 1 song in the Hip-Hop genre on Soundclick December 2006. In 2007 the crew had slimmed down a couple members. They then proceeded and started to work on their first official In- studio album. Due to lost members, life struggles, and in-band issues the album got delayed. Now in 2009 the Young Legends now down to prime fighting weight(DJ What You Got On My 40, Juice, O Killa, Northside Quil, Catdaddy Chris, Goofy, Trill, Ka$h and Guttaincarcerated)). Now they are currently perforimg shows, promoting and repping the O, leading up to the release of their album "Welcome To Hamburger Hill" Is Out And In The Streets Banging Right Now!. Now back to where they started they have gotten back to making good music and have already linked up with local artists such as : O-Spitta, Str8 MIdwest Boyz, R Millz From AMC, Dealdly Alliance and etc. Also Be On The Lookout For The Future Projects Ready To Drop By The End Of 2010 Including " For The Bitches" And "A.S.H."
