That Universal Sound
Band/artist history
Biography A-NICE Raised and reared in Washington, North Carolina, A-nice had his first encounters with hip hop as a " shorty" in 1984. It was only after several hip hop shows and going to local clubs that Nice discovered his fascination for the art of D.j'ing. Although spinning records was only supposed to be a hobby. However, in 1985 upon entering Washington High School, a hobby Quickly turned into an obsession. With fellow classmates such as Boo aka (DJ Boo), cousin Steve, and Terry, all attending school with him, a young and impressionable A-nice couldn't help but be influenced by his surroundings. They became TUF (The Ultimate Force) Dj'ing at all local clubs. Throughout the late eighties and for most of the nineties, Nice continued his DJ mission. Along the way joining the crew was Ready Rob, K-Massacre Aka Phenomenon and my cousin Duckie(RIP). TUF became (The Universal Fanatics), Doing Demos and mixed tapes locally. Eventually, Nice started producing beats and was highly infleunced by original hip-hop radio DJ's, to the likes of Pete Rock, Marley Marl, Mark Da 45 King, and DJ Premier . He patterned his sound to what he heard on the streets of NewYork and on Underground radio rap shows. Presently Nice has bulit a decent resume' locally. He has produced tracks for most MC's in Eastern N.C. up to Baltimore,MD. A-Nice style of production brings that true Essence of hip hop. There is no better way for people to Communicate than through music, for it is truly the Universal language.
