This is an exclusive bio on dancer, choreographer, singer, writer, actor and model Mr. Chris Michael.
Chris Michael, born and raised in The Bronx New York, started his career at an early age dancing in local talent and school shows. After appearing in two Coca-Cola Christmas commercials directed by John Singleton his career in dance began on MTV's "The Grind", which lead to shows such as Say What Karaoke, VH-1's 8 Days of the 80's, Global Grooves, BET's 106 & Park and other MTV shows and commercials. Chris has worked with various well-known artists on tour, in videos and is the choreographer to R&B Diva Lil Mo. His choreography has been seen world wide on The Rock Da Mic Tour, Baltimore's Believe Tour, The Sprite Remix Tour, Miller Lite Concert Army Tour, Simon Detour Live Tour, Seagram's Gin Tour, Stone Soul Picnic, The Scream Tour, MTV, VH-1 and Bet's 106 & Park, AFRAM and competitions including Los Angeles Dance Force (LADF), Hollywood Vibe, Star Power and the Nike Step It Up Challenge. In London and Amsterdam Chris taught dance workshops at Focus Dance Studio "Moves".
Chris appears in Walt Disney Production's "Step Up 2: The Streets" now on DVD and was a featured performer in promoting Paramount Pictures/MTVs Dance Flick.
Growing up Chris Michael was inspired by artists Faith Evans, R. Kelly, Donell Jones, Michael Bolton, Life Jennings and Ginuwine. His talent, diverse cultural background and musical inspirations melded into a unique and compelling R&B singer and songwriter. He has opened for artists including 112, Omarion, Amerie, Freeway, Lil Mo, Marques Houston, Ray J, Trey Songz, Ryan Leslie and Big Sean and graced stages including The Stone Soul Picnic, Club One, WPGC 95.5s Spring Jam, D2D Hip Hop Summit, Club Dubai, and Sirens After Dark. Entertaining audiences large and small, he has become a fixture on the DMV entertainment scene. His passionate yet energetic performances connect with audiences through both the rhythm and the blues. Upon returning to the United States from writing and recording with a series of internationally acclaimed producers in the UK including Project Hyplified, Poison, Raven, Stanley "Steez" and The Beat Kidz, Chris Michael has worked tirelessly, providing his ever-growing fan base with R&B music that keeps them coming back for more.
Growing as a strong artist, building as a strong writer and production engineer, his goals are to be more than just the average singing artist/entertainer. Trained in the world of stage shows, modeling, acting, and choreography, he looks to take the world by storm in every aspect of the industry.
Now residing in Maryland, he keeps his audience entertained with his talents as well as his unique good looks that come from his parents who are from Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. His soothing, raspy tone but strong distinctive voice as well as his energetic and creative dance moves keeps the crowd wanting more. Christen's music is real, edgy and straight to the point. His writings are not just words on a paper. They come from his own personal experience that will give answers to your every situation. His words will keep you on your seats and wanting to know more. Anyone listening and watching him cant deny that he is truly a great vocalist and entertainer.
Your musical influences
My musical influences come from like the late 70's early 80's. When I was little my mom would always play Earth Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan, Frankie Beverly feat. Mase, Phylis Hyman, Patti Labelle, Luther Vandross Donnie Hawthaway The Clark Sisters and Tina Marie just to name a few. I really love old music because its soulful and those singers used to write music that made sence. I love Faith Evans (she does no wrong) Lil' Mo (my Boss) Aaliyah (one of the best singer/entertainers thats ever lived) Donell Jones (dope writer)112 (the best r&b group since new edition) J. moss, Missy Elliot (shes a genius) Also my generation of artist Like Raheem Devaughn, Miguel, Usher, Chris Brown, Jhene Aiko, 2 Chainz, Drake, Eric Bellinger, Tamar Braxton, K. Michelle and myself.
