Band/artist history
Aleph began to exist in the beginning of 1998, with its name inspired in one of Jorge Luis Borges' short stories, and with the first letter of hebraic alphabet as its symbol. The band is influenced by a couple of music styles such as heavy, progressive and gothic metal and its main purpose is to join feeling with an aggressive sound. After some member changes, the band gets established with Olívia Souza & André Luiz (V), Fabiano Formiga (G), Francisco Falconi (B), Luciano Miranda (K) and Walter Marano (D). In September 2000, Aleph releases its first work entitled "Tragedies... Laid by Divine Hands" - a semi-conceptual album, with four tracks which show the band developments. In Febreary 2001, Atlantida Prod. (Lithuania) releases Atlantida Vol.8 - a compilation with various metal bands around the world. Aleph participate on this album with a track taken from their Demo-Cd called "Gift of Prometheus". Aleph is in touch with magazines, bands and people related to musical environment whatever its style.
