The ability to express whatever your
Creator has placed within you is a gift.
Jesus said, "Freely you have received, so freely give." Gifts are meant for giving.
So here you go!
I grew up listening to a lot of traditional gospel stuff, and also to the pop music of the 60's & 70's youth culture. I've written a lot of poetry from a very young age, so song writing as come naturally. Although music is in my blood, I'm a late bloomer as a performer with instruments. As I've grown older I'm been moving more into simpler styles of music and lyrics, which seem to stand the test of time best. Recording my songs and sharing with others is NOT something I'd want to do to make a living financially. It's an expression of what God has put inside of me, which is meant to be shared with Him as well as others.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I like contemporary music as long as the message is valid and not overshadowed by the medium of the instruments.
A variety of acoustic and digital instruments and recording tools and software. It's not so much how much equipment or how expensive, but how you use it that matters in the end.
There's a difference -- between singing about someone you love, respect or admire -- and singing TO that person. Since the Gospel message is both of those things, my songs relate to both perspectives: I sing TO the Lord as well as sing about Him.
