Other Realm Music released its seventh album "The Path: A Walking Meditation" on February 19, 2009!
I do. I have given several live performances in the Virginia beach area, most notably at The Heritage Center by the Virginia Beach oceanfront. In fact I have gotten offers to play in Philadelphia and at the Omaha Healing Arts Center in Omaha, Nebraska. www.omahahealingarts.com
My musical influences stem from quite a few people. I was classically trained and the masters like Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin are my heroes but I must say that I am deeply influenced by such artists as Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Stars Of The Lid, Gabrielle Roth, Richard D. James (ya know, Aphex Twin), Philip Glass, Bill Lieb, Pierre Boulez (early pioneer of electronic music in the 50's), John Cage, Michael Cretu, Robert Moog (rest in peace) and too many more to name.
The greatest thing about the world of electronic music is that the computer/synthesizer makes it very easy to create any combination of instruments. Roland has emerged as one of the strongest sounding keyboard manfacturers in recent years. I love using the Fantom series keyboards. They are incredible sounding. I also will experiment from time to time with the vocoder capabilities of the MicroKorg analog synth. Finally, the Kurzweil SP-88 has superb key action. Tying it all together is Cubase SX3 with VST instruments and an M-Audio Ozone MIDI controller.
Music should be a tool used for exploring. There are almost limitless possibilities within the sonic landscape and one should be open to new sounds.
