Other Alternative

G A R D I N Gardins music is tender and furious in a minor that will remind you of Idaho, Low and Red House Painters. The extreme contrasts in the compositions however, derive from these comparisons as the openness of passages succeed with sudden solid walls of sound which are characterizing and typical of Gardins songs. Thus the music tends to be a friendly as well as an agressive base for lyrics that, mostly short and ungrabable, tell you about the individualist looking for answers.
Band/artist history
Starting out in 2000 as a musical project, Gardin independently released the album Minor Setbacks in 2001 that received great reviews. For other then musical reasons Gardin seased to exist for nearly 2 years. Up until the summer of 2003 when was decided to continue the band as a working band rather than being a project. Gardin established a complete new setlist, recorded demos and remixed outtakes at several studios and refered to some older songs during gigs for fans. In 2005 Gardin features on Something must Break a US compilation album with IDAHO among others. The selection of earlier recorded material will be available on an EP due to be released September 2005. It will be titled Epithalamium EP, and dedicated to Jessica van der Linden, bass player in Gardin from 1999 - 2004.
