Band/artist history
In the middle of 2002, a Poughkeepsie, NY band called The Getaway signed to Epitaph Records and and was forced to change it's name. At the same time a band called Last Kyd Picked from Connecticut was about 5 months old and had been invited to play 3 dates on the Goldfinger, Story of the Year and Allister tour. LKP played melodic hardcore similar to New Jersey's Kid Dynamite. As the Getaway was signed and became Matchbook Romance, they asked PJ Manzo (current Rivers End guitarist) to leave. A couple months later, PJ joined up with LKP who became Rivers End a year later. Gian, the original drummer, and Difran, one of the guitarists, left to pursue other projects. The newest member, Steve, became the drummer in July of 2004.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play live around the Hudson Valley in New York and Also in Connecticut. Every moment we play a show is special. We like to have lots of energy and a lot of space, so we can jump and run and move all over. PJ happens to be a very high jumper.
