Hi Friends and Fans,
I am Roy Cost, recording artist and DJ from Conway, Arkansas USA.
I got my own Radio Show www.roycost.com
Tune in !! if you want your music played sent an email !!
My three recording bands were "The Shadows", "The Music Shoppe" and "Autumn Mist". I pretty well covered the history in my opening statements.
Yes. I play live at the Adult Center in Conway, Arkansas. Special moments were when the roof fell in once. I enjoy playing live with Dixie Harrison and my best friend, Keith Kuykendall.
My greatest influence was my friend and idol, the late Bob Luman. Other entertainers who are or were great in my eyes are Dixie Harrison; Alan Cost; the late, Bill Black & Jim Reeves; Billy Lee Riley; Sonny Burgess; The Pacers; J.C. Cochron, guitarist; Jimmy Newell, guitarist;Jimmy Ford; Jimmy Gilmer; Ronnie Hawkins; Joe Stampley and the Uniques; the late brothers, The Burnetts, Johnny & Dorsey; Conway Twitty; Buddy Holly; Jack Nance of the Twitty and The Shadow's Band; Bobby Goldsboro; Alabama; The Beatles; The Four Tops; The Temptations; the great Ernie Ashworth; Don Gibson and my friend, Teddy Riedell.
I still play an old antique ES335 Gibson Guitar and through a twelve inch speaker, Crate Amp. I use no floor effects.
I would like to thank some great people right now. Mr. Bob Timmers at the Rockabilly Hall of Fame..My Son, Alan Cost who set up my radio station..Mr. Nol Voorst & wife Wies of Holland who is my best fan and Rockabilly's #1 Fan...DJ, Rockin' Henri Smeets of Meerssen Radio, Holland..DJ Lucien Knappen at Dippity Do Radio in Belguim.. Mac Bouvrie of Mac Records, Belguim..Kitty Houston my buddy over in Del City, Oklahoma who has helped me so much...Pete Smith, Pete Harrison, Alison Paulsen, Anne-Lykke, Tim Murr, Don Powell, Don Freeman, Paul Lauzon, Michelle Taranova all great DJs... Barbara and Ed King of EHKing Productions..and my great fans and radio listeners..
My goal is to have a million seller song. Another is to be on the Grand Old Opry. I write all types of songs including easy listening instrumentals. I want to honor the late, "Floyd Cramer" in the future with my own recording of "Last Date" and narratives of our friendship.
