Slightly off-kilter power-pop, acoustic snippets and general tomfoolery from South Yorkshire's third-best local newspaper reporter turned singer-songwriter.
Band/artist history
Formerly of lo-fi experimentalists Casper and their short-lived indie-rock spin-off Pilot Star, neither of which names now means much to anyone excect for their former members, Popzeus now ploughs a lone furrow of recording the occasional rough gem on his laptop when he's got a bit of time on his hands. The results have been known to make people cry. The reasons for this are as yet unexplored.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Not really any more, although I once showed myself up at an open mic acoustic night in Darlington by attempting to play a half-remembered song my old band used to do whilst eye-bogglingly drunk.
Your musical influences
Guided By Voices, Pavement, The Auteurs, The Smiths, Iggy & The Stooges, EPMD, Dr Dre, Beethoven, Built To Spill, Teenage Fanclub, Graham Coxon, Kool Keith. And Many More, as the adverts tend to say.
What equipment do you use?
Some knackered old guitars, an Alesis drum machine and a laptop.
