The fallin Rox crew Aka FRX aka F-rocks, is a miami based hip-hop crew made up of Soulstice, Perscription, Figure-A-Speech, and MOtive.
Band/artist history
The Fallin Rox crew was the manifest of two mcs, Motive aka big mouf (Tyler Greenfield) and soulstice (Richard Padin), who planed a side project that focused on them becoming the best mcs they could be and pushing themselves to their creative limits. Motive's close friend and protege F.A.S. or Figure A Speech ( Thomas O'leary) was the next to join, bringing his abstract style and super lyrical dilivery to the table. Perscription Or RX ( Jeramy Baker), was the final member to join, he was matual freind of all three mcs, And former member of Mote's and Fas' Graph crew SBV (silent but Violent). The name Fallin Rox was an imvention of motives. The name is from an indian from colorado called Falling Rocks who was so different from his tribe that he was forced to leave. Fallin Rox are outcast originals in their own city so they felt the name fit them. Fas came up wit the symbol of the falling rock sign. Mote had been releasing solo mixtapes sence 2001, but in 2003 the first Fallin Rox mixtape came out, "B WARE of FALLIN ROX" although not released to the public it served as experimental project. In 2003 Mote and Fas formed the C-set (Chemistry set), because of their chemistry together, and a C-set track appeared on the B ware Mixtape called "LIKE THIS." C-set is discussing an EP for 2006, but nothing is final. Mote is working on another mixtape that should be out in the summer of 2004, called "Heart of Darkness." Tracks from RX and Fas will appear on it, and a possible Soulstice track is in the works.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
yes, downtown orlando and miami
Your musical influences
We all grew up on a mix of the grooves of westcoast hip-hop(2pac, snoop, dre, e-40), eastcoast and mid-west hardcore lyricism( Eminem, Rakim, common, big L), and the miami bass movement(luther cambell, uncle Al, 69 Boyz). Later on, Solstice and FAS got into underground proggressive hip-hop(aesop rock, thirstin Howl III, and company flow), While Motive emersed himself in alternative hip-hop(fugees, k'os, J5) and classic rock(led zepp, and p funk).
Anything else?
we try to be progressive while stayin tru to hip-hop. But mostly we try to get supa lyrical on every track.
