Refusion Project is actually a sound engineering exploration. However, in order for me to have something to mix, I had to first wear all the other hats- song writer, musician, composer, and producer.
My first love was analog hardware. Bands such as Yellow Magic Orchestra made heavy use of it but still managed to somehow perfectly mix jazz, classical, and pop along with it.
I started my little project about 4 years ago, and now I finally have a CD.
Starting about 10 years ago,I tried my hand at drums, bass, and keys in various small bands in the Midwest. About 4 years ago, I decided to go it alone because I couldn't find anyone I could get along with long enough to actually get any music done.
I don't play live, as of yet.
Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Moody Blues, Alan Parsons, Bob James, The Orb, and many others. I am more about the sound experience rather any particular genre or instrument.
