The First Gothic Rock band from Uruguay playing since 1987
Formed in 1987's winter by Diego R. (Lady Ego), in Montevideo - Uruguay.
They played for the first time in August 16th, 1989, in "El Tinglado" Theatre.
In May 1990, they recorded their first and second demo: "Núbeses Peleando" and "Frío".
Within the course of the years, R R R R R R R experimented several changes, investigating other sounds, and testing different instruments in their music, such as: keyboards, rythm machines, including two and three guitars in their live performances, editing and recording always independently.
The band runs on the underground circuit in Montevideo for 17 years and has performed in mythical places as "Juntacadáveres", "La Cueva" and "Amarillo".
In the actual music proposal of the band, we can find a percusive base that points to primitive and minimalist rythms, with a solid and constant bass line while the guitars and the synths give the atmosphere creating climates for the vocalist to lyrically go along the songs by moments of brilliant darkness.
R R R R R R R was in bs as for the second time in june 2004, at Gothic BA Party.
Diego R. has as a part of his musical history the band Insurrección, playing vocals between 1986 and 1987. This hardcore and punk band, with dark passagges, was the first hardcore band on Uruguay, sharing stages with bands on the likes of Guerrilla Urbana, Cadaveres Ilustres, LSD, Los Traidores, Los Olvidados, Indios Muertos, Toque de Queda, etc.
Afther the breakig of the band, triggered for musical and personal problems, actually involving the drummer leaving the band for joining Los Traidores, Diego R. starts experimening and developing his ideas with other people, until the first formation of the band was defined, circa 1988, and after a year of rehearsal they played live for the first time on 1989.
Afther this gig, which was witnessed by 160 people, the press defined R R R R R R R as a gothic rock band.
Today R R R R R R R is formed by: Lady Ego, Aeon & Nikki
being the only band that remained alive from those years, faithful to its style despite of the coming and goings of some of its musicians.
