Current
A Hero A Fake is fresh out of the studio with producer Jamie King (BTBAM, He Is Legend, Beloved, Secret Lives of the Freemasons) resulting in 43 minutes of both gut wrenching brutality and heartwarming melodies. Volatile aims to push the boundaries of the progressive metal and hardcore genres with complex instrumental compositions complimented with crushing screams and inspiring anthems. With the finished product in hand, AHAF is looking to open new doors and spread the sound of Volatile across the globe.
A Brief History
Forged out of Charlotte, North Carolina in 2004, A Hero A Fake has taken advantage of their multitude of opportunities to progress in the hardcore/metal scene. Over the past four years AHAF has had the chance to play and grow with fellow statesmen including: Between The Buried And Me, Beloved, Alesana, He Is Legend, Hopesfall, Secret Lives of the Freemasons, and The Hottness. AHAF has developed a huge regional following and gained the experience needed to succeed at the next level, including completely booking several tours spreading over the eastern coast and finishing four recordings. Every member of AHAF has proven their dedication by creating and performing some of the best progressive metal/hardcore in the country. As aspiring career musicians, AHAF believes top-tier music and ability to adapt will supply them with the needed aspiration to blossom and sustain their career. AHAF's current lineup consists of a solid group dynamic that spawns intense writing sessions. This dynamic is something evident in their insanely energetic live shows.
Band/artist history
A band from Charlotte, North Carolina. Sometime around September, Eric and I (Lenin)wanted to play a show for our high school. The event was called " Fall Fling" which occurred later in October. We then recruited Justin and David to be our singers. We practiced in my room with both of our guitar half-stacks, and one small peavey amp for the vocals. At the time, David was our lead screamer and Justin was his backup screamer. I was only supposed to play guitar with Eric, but then I started to sing. At first, I wasn't comfortable but then I realized that I can actually sing. Casey, one of our close friends found us a drummer. His name is Brendon from Arizona. He recently moved here about one year ago and he had experience with other bands before entering our band. In three practices with our drummer, we were ready to play at the fall fling. The show was a success.
Unfortunately, David left our band due to differences and dislikes. That's all were going to say about that matter. Justin took his place in becoming the lead singer, and since then, he's been doing grate. We wanted to play shows but we were still to fresh to play at a venue. So we asked our friend Brittney Rose if we could play at copper head island were she had her party. We practiced for weeks to prepare ourselves for the show. We played a song and a half before we got cops called on us. That was the most embarrassing moment in our lives. One success and one downfall. What a harsh way to begin our carriers as musicians. This would lead to bigger things in the future.....
