SHAUN WILLIAMSON
American born Shaun Williamson, hailing from Pensacola, Florida, was first introduced to the music world like a scene out of the movie "Rock Star". His vocal talents were discovered early by the late LYNYRD SKYNYRD bassist LEON WILKESON. When frontman Ronnie Hammond left the ATLANTA RHYTHM SECTION, it was Leon's endorsement that got Shaun the gig. Shaun, barely out of his teens, found himself thrusted out in front of 70,000 people at Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium as the new lead singer of ARS.
Next, Shaun headed overseas to Germany where he formed the band "BACKBONE SLIDE". The band was managed by legendary ROLLING STONES manager, ANDREW LOOG OLDHAM. They released two albums on Mausoleum Records and toured Europe and the U.K with the Rob Lamothe lead RIVERDOGS, and many others. Shaun remained in Germany after BACKBONE SLIDE disbanded and worked as a studio singer. His talents have been featured on many recordings, a highlight being a MOODY BLUES multi-artist recording featuring JUSTIN HAYWARD and a full symphony orchestra.
Later he travelled back to his blues roots and joined the popular German Blues group "SUNNYLAND BLUESBAND". He recorded 5 albums and enjoyed playing all of the major European blues festivals touring, and sharing the bill with many legendary performers such as B.B. KING, JOHNNY WINTER and LUTHER ALLISON just to name a few.
On his return to the United States, Shaun was contacted by Tinsley Ellis guitarist and longtime friend KENNY KILGORE who happened to be recording in the famed Muscle Shoals studios. He heard of a band called KING KARMA from Vancouver, Canada that was being produced by early LYNYRD SKYNYRD producer JIMMY JOHNSON that was in dire need of a powerful lead vocalist/Frontman. Kenny wasted no time in contacting Shaun.
Shaun was flown up to Vancouver, and set to work writing and recording their highly acclaimed debut album.
