M.O.S. began to take rap seriously when producer Ill Phil and Yung Cassius aka Camara recognized his raw talent and distinctive vocal tone. Together, the three formed HOTBLOC Productions. Philly's beats and Camara's witty street flow inspired M.O.S. to take his unique sound and lyrics to the next level. The establishment of the Triangle Music Group further gave him the opportunity to showcase his sound and flow to the masses of North Carolina. Known as "Bull City's Bad Boy," M.O.S. performed in talent showcases with fellow Triangle Music Group affiliates Yung Cassius and Presidential to make a name for himself.
Band/artist history
Born March 14, 1980 to Veronica Garrett and Cornell Pickett, M.O.S resides in the Hardee St/Cheek Rd section of East Durham, NC. As a youth, he was a victim of the streets but always had an incredibly slick way with words. Despite being a great thinker as well as an articulate speaker, Lee never performed to his fullest potential in school. Instead, he focused on the streets that raised him. Through the help of family, friends, and later mentor DJ Skaz, M.O.S emerged into a promising recording artist with the initiative to strive towards music and slack off the "Street Life."
Your musical influences
Influences from Notorious BIG, LL Cool J, Scarface and Jay-z eventually gave M.O.S. the motivation and pure drive to pursue a career in Hip-Hop music. His musical counterparts gave him the push to succeed and to accomplish being Durham's top MC. "The flow is butta, that's why the bread comes in loaves!"
