H.u.s.hh is a group that contains two members; Diadem (the limbless rapper), and DJ Status. The word H.u.s.hh is an acronym that stands for Help Us Save Hip Hop. The group feels that hip hop needs to be saved from the repetitiveness and the lack of creativity in musical content. H.u.s.hh will bring hip hop back to its roots, when it was all about the love and fun for the art.
Both individuals are multitalented and very focused on where they want to go in life. Not only do they write, but they also Dj, produce their own beats, and sound engineer. As producers Hushh has personally submitted their beats to established artists such as; Rah Digga, Fabolous, G-unit, Slick Rick, Game, Doug E. Fresh, Lil John and the Eastside Boyz, Jadakiss,, Lady Saw, and have also let many unsigned artists rock their beats.
H.u.s.hh as artists have many accomplishments. They have performed with Wyclef Jean, freestyled with Method Man., as well as performing a song on The Maury Povich show. They went on The Howard Stern show in March of 2003 and completed a 20 minute interview live on the radio. They have also been in several Ct. newspapers including the Journal Inquirer, Hartford Courant, and Punchline Magazine. In the month of July 2004, the group performed at Club Mumbai in Manhatten owned by hip hop pioneer Kurtis Blow. They were honored to share the stage that night with ODB just months before he passed away. Hushh recently performed at the Funk Flex car show in Hartford Ct along side Jadakiss, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Mirie Ben Airie, and G-Unit. Lastly, they have been keeping a large buzz in the local battle scene through out the northeastern region.
Status and Diadems’ main goal for their record label (HUSHH Entertainment), is to push a team of artists, dj’s, taggers, breakdancers, and producers to their full potential. In the end, they hope they will complete their mission on saving hip hop. Which only leaves you with one question, Are You Down For The Cause?
