The Owl Watches is a work in progress, specializing in mysterious, intense colorful instrumental progressive rock/fusion
I initially did this as a form of therapy so to speak, to be able to give my own creative impulses a voice that they would not have had in previous musicial situations I involved myself in. I had gotten in touch with my deep unabashed love for progressive rock with a vengeance. Over time, I was able to delineate what I really loved in that realm, and my first CD, "Tales From The Inflatable Forest" is the end result.
I did this first disc in the manner of a one-man-band out of necessity more than anything. I had to force myself into previously unexplored territory (for me) such as keyboarding and drum programming. I learned much but if I had it to do over again, I would've preferred other musicians. At the time, I found myself hard pressed to find like-minded souls who loved this kind of music unabashedly. Talk about a steep learning curve!!
Since this started as a studio project, the answer is no. However, I am putting together an actual band, so in the ensuing months, I'm expecting to take it to the stage. Stay Tuned!!!
King Crimson, Miles Davis, Peter Gabriel-era Genesis, Magma, Anglagard, Happy The Man, Stravinsky, Ravel, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Bill Connors (guitar)
Awww, c'mon, don't ya like a little mystery?
Am I alone in appreciating William Shatner's UNINTENTIONAL comic song interpretive genius?
And just HOW DOES the Bat Instant-Clothes Changer work?
