Breathe & Fade Breathe & Fade

Rock General

Formed in mid-March of 2004, Tom (drummer) formed the beginnings of GB with a member who departed with the band about the end of march if that...Tom, Eric (bassist)and I (troy) came into the picture and that was that after the initial forming. We suffered a loss of our second guitarist, Chris and moved on. Now we focus on the direction of our sound and writing and composing music before, during and on days when we don't have practices. The song writing process has alway been collective but there has always been someone kind of leading the vision. I suppose whoever's idea for the song it was in the first place but we don't do exclusive rights. Its more like one person has a riff or a full idea for a song and the other two assume reactive role in the song-writing process.
Band/artist history
We came together as a 4-piece then soon after forming, we lost a guitarist. It left us hanging and wondering where our sound (and band) were to go and the future of it all. At first we didn't really know how to write songs as a trio but we intially wrote about 12 songs after that happened dispite our lost. From those songs we kept 2 and added them to our repitoire for future recording and later gigging. From there what we ended up with by the time August of 2004 rolled around were 6 songs for our EP that we recorded with Lee Dyess at Earthsound Studios in Valdosta, GA. I (troy- guitar, vocals) deployed to Iraq for 4 months and then
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, we've played live twice and are currently practicing and writing new songs for our full length and upcoming CD.
Your musical influences
We have so many bands that we're into me especially (i have over 15,000 mp3s) even as a trio but i believe that who your musicial influences are doesn't necessarily mean that it will have any affect on a person's sound when they play. It can happen but just b/c a person likes jazz doesn't mean they wanna write or play jazz music...get what i'm saying?
What equipment do you use?
Peavey 2x12 combo amp (300watts) standard 150watt PA system to practice with, peavey 2x10 bass amp (mark 3 series)210watts and 4-piece mapex kit with auquarian heads (13" snare, 10" 14" toms - stand mounted) A custom projection crash, A custom 20" ride
Anything else?
