Versatile Songwriter, Lyricist and Artist - Clara Cleo Cornell (Sweden)
Songs written quite a while ago, two released (Feministskräck and Dansens melodi), the rest demos - to bear in mind in regards to the styles and production. Since, more songs has been written and performed live, but not released.
The material is mainly onsite for showcasing the artists songwriter skills. (not production or performance), but of course welcoming any listeners that likes the songs! The goal is production and release of more songs and lyrics, both old and new, as there is lots of ideas with potential to reach out on a wider scale.
If you catch an interest in collaboration on any of the songs with up to date production, re-production och remix ideas, or would like to co-write and need lyrics for songs, Cleo would be very happy to hear from you!
About the songs/demos
* The swedish rapsong "Feministskräck" was released on the compilation album "Lilith Eve Collection no.1" in 2009, and has since also been digitally released on Spotify and other sites.
* The upbeat latininspired swedish song "Dansens melodi" has been the signature song for shows at one of Swedens largest private danceschools Danshuset.
* The "jazzpop" demo "Moment" was produced by Cleo at Karlskoga Folkhögskola (songwriters college) - talented bassplayer Anders Helming added a very cool touch to it!
* The demo of the ballad "Come back into my life" gained a Semi-Finalist position in UK Songwriting Contest 2021 (category Retro).
* The demos of the popsong "Tell me", oldstyle hiphopsong "No paying the price", oldstyle "dancehit" "Set me free", popsong "Bit by bit" and the ballad "Come back into my life" has all gained Honourable Mentions at the Billboard Songwriting contest.

Originally Cleo trained as a dancer and musical theatre performer at London Studio Centre in England and at Dance Academy in Stockholm when she started writing lyrics and songs. Eventually she realized that this was part of her gift, and also gained encouragement from her singing teachers to go on and develop her musical artistic expression.
Cleo has worked as a danceteacher, project- and event co-ordinator, choreographer and coach. She has written lyrics and songs for businesses and dramaproduction and worked as a musical theatre- and danceshowproducer with young students at different schools. She has been a choreographer and coach for Miss Africa Sweden and other events.
Additionally, Cleo has been the president of a national association for female songwriters and of the local unit of Musicians union in Sweden, hosted a radioprogram and events such as seminars and Open stage for songwriters. With the diverse amount of creative work, time and resources for songwriting production has often ran short, but Cleo aims to challenge that in the future.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes - in the past as a dancer and percussionist, and during the years with as a singer with jazz and bossanovaprojects, as well as her own music and lyrics, at various venues and public events.

Anything else?
* 2021 Cleo decided to enter the UK Songwriter Contest, (one of the biggest international contests of its kind) and USA Songwriter Contest (held under the same umbrella 2021) and landed a FINALIST position in the co-write category for her lyrics "Walk with me" to the music by former melodywinner Tim Crew.
Furthermore she obtained a SEMI FINALIST position in the retro-category for her song "Come back into my life", and a
SEMI FINALIST position in the Crisis lyrics category for her lyrics "Youre a star."
In addition, most of her other entries (12 st) scored high ratings just below semi finalist position.
Also years ago - in sending her songs to the then worldfamous Billboard Songwriting Contest (USA) Cleo obtained five Honourable mentions out of the six songs she entered. The HONOURABLE MENTION is a runner-up position that, according to the proffessional jury "demonstrates the talent and dedication to make a hit song".READ MORE
