Originally From Boston, Ma...I started playing guitar in bars and clubs at the age of 15. Throughout the following years, I toured with some of the biggest names in the industry playing along side the likes of Jimmy Hendrix, Joey Dee, The Shirelles, The Drifters, Stevie Wonder and far to many to mention here. I participated in many recording sessions with various groups throughout Nashville, New York, Boston, Atlanta and Tampa playing Blues, Jazz, R&B, Rock and Country. In 1977 with my band Avalanche, we enjoyed a #1 Disco hit,(Mister Boogie Man) I finally settled in Alabama in 1980 and played locally and did some road work for Jimmy Ellis(Orion)of Sun Records, as his Music Director. In Dec. of 1989 while working with an electric saw, I had a terrible accident on my chord hand,(left) that robbed of my index finger, part of my thumb and damaged my middle finger to where it does'nt bend much. At that time in my life, I thought my playing days were over!! After a 10 year period of time of not playing the guitar at all, I started to work in a music store in Birmingham, Al. Working in that enviroment stimulated my love for music and with the encouragement of many of the people working there and the persistance of my new wife, I started to pick again, slowly but surely being covinced that there was a future for my music. This Cd,(Variations)recorded in 2001 is a cumination of all those combined elements along with the many styles of music I love to play.
My Cd was done in my spare room, on my PC and all instrumentation was done by me. It was the first thing I did when I started back playing again.
Yes...I still play clubs with a local band here in town ( II DA MAX ) Classic R&B music...Love it more now than when I did it for a living!
Classic R&B and Blues/Jazz are my favorite music...being a studio musician and producer gives me more freedom to express myself..I just produced a CD on Bill Avery (Beyounce's cousin) and it is doing well world wide.
Fender Strat and Tele, Fender amps w/dist.
also comp/limiter and chorus/delay pedals.
Can't really put any one style for my music...I just try to play in context of what the song is...
