Guaranteed to disgust your ears ...with disgusting sound, not profanity.
One upon a time, in a sleepy coastal town, there appeared a sound which expressed a higher level of consciousness. Many local natives were quickly drawn to the glorious power of the new sound. This was the sound of Pirate Radio. The "DJ's", as they were commonly known, would aid the community by adding color and variety to the airwaves. They would also commonly practice the local ritual of medicinal smoke consumption. After only twelve moons had passed, the Great Empire heard about the DJ's voice to the public. The Great Empire crushed the local station with their mighty bureaucratic power. The surviving DJ's were scattered throughout the land.
But this would not be the end....
Soon, a small collective of musicians and DJs found a hidden cave of synthesizers near the old station. They soon adapted to use the synthesizers to create amazing new sounds never heard by human ears. Originally, the collective wanted to call themselves "The Smurfs", because of their affinity for an old world television program, also known as "Les Schtroumpfs". They appreciated the Smurfs’ simple egalitarian lifestyle and unique housing accommodations. They sympathized with the Smurfs’ constant oppression by larger, greedier forces. But the collective needed a name that was more inclusive than just blue, fungus-dwelling gnomes. So, they delved into their inherent knowledge of botany to find the general name of their favorite naturally occurring, mind expanding, substancesalkaloids. Alkaloids are natural phyto-chemicals synthesized by plants and fungi.
The Great Empire presently occupies all of the air frequencies. The collective was drawn to the all-knowing Internet to regroup and plan for retaliation.
