Systems Legacy was a gothic rock band from Johannesburg South Africa. Their debut album, Nostalgic Remembrance was released on X-Plosive Records in 1999 and included the singles 'Stay' (a Shakespeare's Sister cover) and 'Johannesburg' (a political anthem of sorts) - both received airplay on national radio station 5FM by legendary DJ Barney Simon
Band/artist history
Systems Legacy was formed in 1995 by Stuart Manicom and Michael Encarnacao. In 1997 they recruited lead guitarist Kenneth Clark and later vocalist/keyboardist Sharne Daniel and drummer Wayne Pictor. Jacques Fourie and Warren Bruckmann also contributed on guitar and drums respectively. Systems Legacy played many shows throughout Johannesburg from 1999 to 2001 following the release of Nostalgic Remembrance on X-Plosive Records. They appeared on National TV where an unreleased track called Meridian was played following a live interview. This was followed by a sold out show at the legendary Hunters in Randburg. They formally disbanded in 2002.
