Matthew Le Blanc (born December 21st, 1983 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) is an independent electronic artist who writes videogame inspired dance music under the name SynthR.
Falling in love with dance music in the early 90s, Matthew began writing in 1997 using Propellerheads Rebirth software, later transferring to Fruityloops Studio in 2001 and Propellerheads Reason 3.0 in 2006 which he still currently uses.
Influenced heavily by music from traditional role playing video games and various Electronic artists, SynthR attempts to fuse the danceability of electronic music with themes of adventure and excitement. Conversely, as an independent artist Matthew Le Blanc strives to take his music to the next level by utilizing his creativity, musical understanding and aspiration to do something different in hopes of writing uniquely enjoyable pieces.
Matthew has met with moderate success gaining local and commercial air play on the likes of McMaster University Radio and CBC Radio 3. He has also had his work featured in an issue of Terapia Musical, a Brazilian therapeutic magazine that features a full length CD comprised of various artists. Using the internet as a backbone for promotion, Matthew passionately attempts to widen his fan base through the use of websites and offering free downloads of his work.
If youre interested in contacting SynthR for FREE use of his work, questions or just to say hello he can be reached through this website or by emailing him at SynthR(at)hotmail.com.

Your musical influences
I have many influences both Musical and non. I have a taste for all things eccentric and like working with things that are different.
Artists like Orbital and Slacker both prove that you can take clickity clankin' samples and tastefully put them together to form a fun and entertaining dance track.
Terra Ferma, POB and the Art of Trance (all Platipus artists) take inspiration from nature and everyday life, portraying that in their melodies.
Lemon Jelly and Enigma prove that with the right ingredients you can combine multiple genres of music to form a even greater piece of music through sampling.
Hans Zimmer, composer of many monster soundtracks, is a modern day orchestral genius. The emotion portrayed through the music he writes is so powerful and entertaining that even without a film you'll be able to picture the events unfolding.
I have many inspirations, even the smallest things can make a huge impact on me. I just keep my ears open.
What equipment do you use?
Computer which in turn has Reason, Fruityloops and Cooledit Pro.
Anything else?
I dance like a Madman on command.
