Christian Rock/ Pop/ Progressive/ Retro - Contrary to their name Raw Dog is not a hardcore heavy metal band, instead they are actually quite mainstream in sound. There message is one of hope to those who have been abused by members of the Body of Christ. Their music they feel is for the church and sinner alike.Band/artist history
Rick started Raw Dog with the Lord's help back in 1988. Rick's attitude was to see if there was anyone who would be spoken to thru the song's the Lord gave him thru the years. The first tape " Let God Arise " was done in his home studio on a Fostex X-3 Multitracker cassette recorder and mixed down on a Panasonic stereo cassette deck 635. When Rick started that project, he had no idea that he was going to continue recording, he just had a desire to record something that day in a little space in the shed that Rick Jr. his son was recording in. Equipment being barely sufficient but adequate enough to satisfy his desire, he put together some chords and the song Let God Arise was born. When he was finished, he was blessed. That day a desire and a freedom was born in him to start recording all the material the Lord had previously given. After the first tape "Let God Arise", two more brothers Bernie Hahn from the band "Cross Road" and Robert Schwartz joined themselves to the project and Raw Dog 2 was born " Let God Be God". We called that little home studio Roman Recordings and from there it felt like a green light to keep going was given to us. Then came " God War " Raw Dog 3, which is raw dog spelled backward. Robert Schwartz was very observant one day and showed us that. Boy was that encouraging because a lot of the songs on God War remind us of the war that we are going thru in the Spirit. Then came the last tape called " Different Faces " Raw Dog 4. The tapes have been turned into CD's and the band is now called "Christian Raw Dog".Have you performed in front of an audience?It always seemed we were to controversial to play live. So we as a band spent our time playing in the studio and being blessed by the Lord, we enjoyed it. The special moments came when the Lords presencs would be there and things just seemed to flow together very well. It brought rejoicing to us all.
