Entropy

This is an egyptian waltz - 3/4 time an harmonic minor. I really like experimenting with this kind of scale and key. Sounds kind of like a soundtrack. Only not really. Encompasses both laid-back faux-acoustic and lots of screaming distortion.

Instrumental Rock

All these things end up sounding the same anyway, but . . . My name is David Dexter and I compose and record instrumental guitar songs. People have compared my style to such stalwarts as Knoppfler, Satch, Johnson, Metallica . . . which is all very flattering, but I like to think I have my own style rather than ripping off somebody else's.
Band/artist history
Not much of a history. I've been playing guitar for about 3.5 years and for the last two have been recording instrumental songs on my pc. The quality of both playing and sound is steadily improving.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I occasionally gig around Exeter where my uni is. Having just got into a band I expect a few more gigs soon. It's always fun to alienate a crowd.
Your musical influences
Brian May, Steve Vai, Satch, Richie Sambora, Eric Clapton, Luca Turelli, Van Halen, AC/DC, GnR, Eric Johnson, Steve Lukather . . . Basically a lot of the greats. They're not so much influences on my style as inspirations to play better.
What equipment do you use?
Some kind of Jackson guitar, a morley wah pedal, zoom 707mkII effects box, my pc.
Anything else?
Nothing.
