I'm Lula, a solo independent artist. I've been playing guitar for 2 years now, and I already love it. I've been singing since forever and started writing songs since I was 9. Don't worry, my songs are much better now.
I was born in Argentina. My parents first encouraged my brother to learn music, since they noticed he was really talented. He started taking keyboard classes when I was 7, and I went with him to his first class. I was fascinated with the keyboard so I asked my parents to suscribe me to keyboard classes. After almost almost 3 years, I got a diploma for learning the basics. But suddenly, I started finding it too difficult to learn more. Seeing my brother having no problems learning, I felt bad. I stopped going to the keyboard classes.
I felt like I had no talent for music. I stopped learning keyboard but I kept loyal to what I liked the most: singing. I kept like that for 2 years, until I turned 12. I listened to a band called M2M, where the guitar sounded so beautiful. I started taking guitar classes at school and began to really like it. Now it's been almost 2 years since I play guitar and I love it. Learning this new instrument gave me the freedom to not only write the lyrics for a song, also the music.
I always had felt a bit bad about my singing. I never thought I had a good voice and no one else thought that either. But when I switched schools, suddenly everyone noticed my voice, incluiding my Music teacher. And, what can I say, I love singing and hearing that my voice was good I felt like in heaven. When I was 12, I won the third place with a friend for a singing contest. And now I can say I'm proud of my voice! It may not be the best one but, hey, I'm just happy to know I'm not THAT bad after all.
All I can say is that, as Marion Raven once said, I wouldn't be myself without music.
I was sang at a song festival with a friend, and I loved it! I was very, very, nervous, but we won third place so I was proud.
Michelle Branch and M2M basically. Michelle Branch, because many of my lyrics and the chords I use in my songs come from her songs. M2M because I think I sound like them. But not in the first album (Shades of Purple), I mean their second album (The Big Room). Also Dido could be, in her calm songs. A friend told me my songs sound like Missy Higgings too.
Just acoustic guitar and vocals. Sometimes, I make some effects in Adobe Audition. And there is a little piano in some songs too. I'm trying to make them rockier, but I'm still learning to play Electric Guitar.
