Sam and Steve is a nice blend of folkish music with a touch of psychedelic undertones. Our music is a new sound and is consistantly moving foward.
Well, lets see..... We started out a few years back when Sam sat in with Steve and a band he was in. Steve and Sam have know each other for about 8 years or more. Can't remember what year we met but it was in high school......i think. Gicky comes into the picture as a local weird kid that everyone knows.
Steve was born 1982 and has been playing Guitar for 10 years and has been playing piano for about 12 years. I went to a little bit of college for theory but I got bored. I went on to teach music in a little music store somewhere in South Jersey. Lately i've been concentrating on original material and as of more recent been colaborating with Sam.
Sam was born in 1981 and started playing bass when he was 16. Droped outa school and joined our old band "The Greenhouse Effect". Traveled out west for a stint, had to get the hell outa Jersey for a while. Has been working in the labor field doing construction and the like but now settled for fishing out on the boats. As of recent doing recording for the first time.
DJ Gicky/Chris was born in a blizzard in 1982. Finished high school, and is still in college 6 years later. He has been DJ'ing for 7 years and producing for 3. He runs a small studio and likes programming drum tracks for bands in which he sees potential for greatness. Aside from DJ'ing in clubs in and around philadelphia, he likes snowboarding, surfing, video games, and spending time with his 4 year old daughter.
No gigs yet, but we are working in the studio 5 days a week recording our first album. With other projects of ours we have played live gigs.
Steve: Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Jackson Browne, The Grateful Dead, Marvin Gaye, Robert Johnson, Cory Stevens, Cat Stevens ect..... I like everything and i pull a little bit of influence from everywhere.
Sam:i grew up listening to zepplin, rush, gnr, tom petty, john cougar, talking heads, fleetwood mac for example too many to list but a very ecclectic mix, high school i was mostly int heavy bands like helmet, korn, manson, slipknot, but also listened to such bands as nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, again too many to list, spent time traveling following a few shows and during my exposure to that scene got into bluegrass as well, basically all good music ill listen to and as all musicians i pull my music from what i know
