Only He
"Only He" was a late 1980's attempt at home studio recording. My buddy Tom played his Les Paul and I sang, overdubbed vocals, and used my baby sister's Casio Synth/drum machine for percussions. Hey, we pulled if off, for a couple of total rookies!

Dave Hall (DH7) is a singer/songwriter/recording artist from Gainesville, FL (also home of Sister Hazel, Less Than Jake, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Stephen Stills, Don Felder, etc.)
Band/artist history
Dave Hall started writing poetry at about age 8, but always loved music and could often be heard, by his parents, singing Beatles' songs and the like from the radio and records. His mother was gifted at making up rhymes off-the-cuff. His father,in addition, had some natural musical abilities. Dave started playing guitar around age 18 and began to write (very primatively!) Over the years his writing matured as did his guitar playing. By his early 20s he was hanging out with other musicians, picking up what he could. His first studio encounter, which was actually accidental (he was looking for some photography work!), led to his love for recording music.
More songs, marriage and kids and normal life struggles have been and continue to be song-writing ammunition. Over the years, Hall has written several singles with modest regional success in Florida in the CCM genre. He recently finished his album "Who Do You Love?" which features Tom Petty's (and Bob Dylan's) former drummer, rock and roll Hall of famer, Stan Lynch. Produced by Ronny Cates, formerly with the band Petra (Christian Rock's all-time best selling group), this project marks the pinnacle thus far in Hall's musical career.
Currently, Hall is busy raising a family, writing songs, and playing out at small venues and church concerts. To Hall, music and Christian ministry are a powerful combination.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I do play live. Usually at small clubs/cafes,
coffeehouseses(i.e. Coffee Culture in Gainesville!), and small concerts like churches and fundraisers.
Your musical influences
Beatles, Eagles, Led Zep, Phil Keaggy, Kansas, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, CCR, Petra, Rez Band, Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, Rich Mullins, Third Day, and so on.
What equipment do you use?
Pro-Tools, Gibson and Martin and Seagull guitars, Fender Basses, lots more instruments,
Mackie mixers, Alesis, Tascam,... and a cuzillion more gadgets I can't remember.
Anything else?
My daughter Jessica said it so well in her own words:
"If it's better to wait, wait for the better."
It applies to much in life,
such as getting my first big break as a singer/songwriter/performer. I'll do that, Jessie!
