synthonic is a new york based electronic pop band inspired by many of the synthpop bands of the 80's and 90's.
after graduating from high school, several of my friends decided to learn to play guitar. motivated by boredom, i joined them in the learning process. after figuring out how to strum a few chords, i started writing some songs with a broken down acoustic guitar. however, my true love was synthpop. synthesizers are an expensive investment, which can be an intimidating purchase when you don't know how to use one. but thanks to the computer age and soft synths, even the poorest of folks can experiment with these wonderful instruments.

inspired by the legendary synthpop bands of the 80's such as erasure, depeche mode, omd, human league, new order, yazoo, etc... synth bands from the 90's like mesh, iris, anything box, joy electric, joy machine, cause and effect, wolfsheim, cosmicity, color theory, neuropa, and the list goes on... and of course some non-synth bands that are great anyway, the cure, the smiths, morrissey, et al...
