Sliding Door

From Liquid Jungle self titled Debut Ep
Band/artist history
Liquid Jungle is the combined effort of four musicians creating ferocious grooves through a sonic mixture of hard rock, funk, and reggae. The resulting music is full of hypnotic riffs, ethereal melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and a distinctive style designed to open minds, move feet, and shake the soul. Identical twin front men, Josh and Graham Yoder, have spent their entire lives together; they’ve shared a room as well as creative minds and a genuine love of music and art. The two began writing songs together at 11; by 15, the boys were performing at clubs throughout Atlanta. Now 21, they’ve mastered a unique style demonstrated by their incredible chemistry on stage. Josh describes this phenomena as “a sort of telepathic communication. We finish each other’s thoughts constantly and during improv, we follow each other without even realizing it.”. In 2001, they recruited close friend and guitarist, Andres Miller, to enhance the band’s musical depth. In addition to his prowess on the guitar, Andres has further expanded the sound with his impressive keyboard and vocal skills. In the spring of 2004, they were introduced to Jason Monseur, who now is the rhythmic force driving Liquid Jungle’s sound. With Monseur in place behind the drums, the band is free to explore, experiment, and grow musically. Liquid Jungle’s live performances have been creating quite a stir in the Atlanta, Athens, and Milledgeville music scenes. Their diverse style has made them Atlanta favorites at the Brandyhouse, Ten High, and Vinyl 3 venues with completely different personalities and crowds. Their reputation has taken them to Smith’s Olde Bar, The Masquerade, and The Hard Rock Café. They’ve made their presence known in Athens with well-received shows at Tasty World, Last Call, and DT’s Downunder. In Milledgeville, fans greet them enthusiastically at Loco’s and Amici. Having shared the stage with Johnny Neel from The Allman Brothers, George Porter Jr. of the Funky Meters, Matt Abts of Govt. Mule, and Brian Stoltz from Bob Dylan’s band, is affirmation of Liquid Jungle’s current success and foreshadows an even brighter future. In the words of Todd Ziegler, Atlantashows.com, “The chemistry among the members generated results which would make an alchemist jealous each plays with the chops and musicality which would make schooled pros simmer with envy”.
