Motosota's music is quite versatile, so it is not surprising to discover that their compositions feature many diverse elements such as rock, jazz, avant garde, lounge, soul/r&b, funk and Latin, with some additional electronic elements forthcoming. Often this array of genres is blended within the same song with such a natural fusion that it can be difficult to decipher a singular element from the overall makeup of the composition. Typically that is intentional, other times it is simply kismet! Yet that in a nutshell is what makes Motosota a unique ensemble.
Originally formed in early 2004, Motosota has played over a dozen shows in the Indianapolis area and has recorded three CDs: a 5-song Demo EP in 2004 featuring the classics "Crystal Lattice" & "Machete-Benz", the full-length album trans.metro.politik in 2005, featuring notable favorites "The Starlab", "Visceral Lei" & "Gun Is In the Glove Box", and their brand new 2007 EP, In Outer Orbit, featuring instant classics "Aurora Borealis" & "Fluctuation vs Dissipation".
The band is available for select booking in the Midwest region and can be reached via e-mail at: email@example.com; or contact them via this MySpace page.
Motosota = Brian + Jerry + Brandon + Marko = Instrumental rock-jazz
We have played live just over a dozen times in Indianapolis, IN. Being instrumental, combining rock and jazz elements, it always presents us with the challenge of getting through to the audience. The best moments come when we actually connect with the audience and everyone "gets" what we are trying to do.
