The RapCityRidaz consist of two members: Pure Fire and Mista .45. Both rappers and producers, 2003 marks the third year they've been in the game together and they only get better with time. After hooking up through a mutual friend and realizing each other's skills, they began to record they're first album, 2001's "MidWest Asylum", which also consisted of other Rapid City area rappers. Still under their old name of the Dank Commission, they put out "2002DC: Chronology" in March of 2002, which met with universal acclaim from both hardcore hip-hop fans and casual listeners alike. After taking a hiatus from recording from May of 2002 until June of 2003, during which time Pure Fire graduated from an audio engineering school in Orlando, FL and Mista .45 went back to prison, they reunited. Only this time, without the members of the old group, better equipment, and a renewed hunger for ripping mics, they're hell-bent on showing the world what the RCR is capable of.
" Gotta make our moves, never play to lose, if they get in our way, we break them fools. Through wicked sin and thick and thin, we gonna ride with pride 'till the very end. "-RCR motto
Pure Fire is what you might call the "mastermind" of the duo. He produces most of the RCR's beats and does the engineering work necessary to bring sound quality up to par, all the while recording and touching up vocals for himself and his partner-in-crime Mista .45 Might seem like a lotta work, but you'd be hard-pressed to find another rapper/producer that loves it as much as Fireman does. A veteran of freestyle battles AND studio-style recording, he's earned his place on the mic with his complex lyricism and ever-changing flow, while his beats have made heads nod for years. Definitely a man you would want behind the boards for you, and one of the few rappers around that can burn the mic in any way possible, hence the name, Pure Fire. This MC brings HEAT.....
The head-splitter of the duo, Mista .45 spits flames in a way few MC's can. Commonly called a blend of Tech N9ne and Krayzie Bone, his high-speed antics have shredded rival MC's for years, while his newly honed production skills bring more heat to his attack. Even with his naturally aggressive style, this bad-tempered mic ripper can easily change his voice, flow, mood, and rhyme pattern to accomodate any beat and often does so, sometimes in the middle of a verse. He's earned his place on the mic with his high level of versatility, vicious flow, and a hunger that keeps him in the studio 24/7. A respected rapper/producer, he earned his name by the way his words seem to pound into your head like .45 calibur slugs. At his best when alongside his close friend Pure Fire, but also dangerous solo, Mista .45 has more than enough ways to get into your head.....
