Band/artist history
In early 2004, two good friends Cameron Morrison and Michael de Almeida had a vision. The vision was to start a band. With Morrison starting to learn bass from a friend and de Almeida starting to self-teach himself to play guitar several months prior, they got together and decided to start the band Blood Soaked Romance.
A few weeks later fortune smiled upon the pair as they met a nearby drummer named Anthony Saldutto. They met at an outdoor activity, and Saldutto was looking for a band. Morrison quickly wrote down his number, and a few days later the trio got together to practice. The music that came from Salduttos basement was unlike music any of them had ever heard. By just adding on to Morrisons unique basslines, de Almeida and Saldutto immediately had the idea for their first song.
But Blood Soaked Romance was still in need of a vocalist, and de Almeida wanted a second guitarist to make the music more interesting. After a little searching, the two were both found almost at the same time.
Ryan Winter joined the trio after learning that long time friend Morrison had the band, and needed a vocalist. After learning that Winter himself was a vocalist, Morrison quickly enlisted the voice of his friend. Ryan quickly bonded with the other members of the band and has been very close ever since.
Bryan Hornsby, also a long-time friend of Morrison, was called in to a band practice to see how he would fare. During the first few months, Hornsby proved to be a valuable asset in Blood Soaked Romance. Adding his unique playing style to some songs, Hornsby helped to develop some of the bands first songs.
However, after many practices in de Almeidas and Morrisons garages, along with Winters basement, it was apparent that the band needed a change. Due to lack of recent participation and personal reasons, the band decided to part with Hornsby, and replace him with a good friend of Morrison and Winter, and guitarist, Kevin Sloan.
The first practice with Sloan was more productive than the first 3 with Hornsby, as Sloan added many of his own tricks to songs such as Sanity. In the short time that hes been with them, the rest of the band has decided that this is a turn for the better.
Another change of pace was the name of the band. Everyone had decided that they wanted to change the name of the band to something less cliché. The two choices put on the table were True Direction and Baywood, but they still wanted the symbol of the rose to have something to do with their title. After some indecision, it was apparent that the right name for the band was indeed True Direction.
