Maroon has been a band for about four years now. Formed in mid-1999, we originally consisted of Rune Kierstein (drums), Lukasz Kamionka (guitars, vocals), Morten Bach (vocals, guitars) and Claus X (bass). Getting together to play a set at a birthday party, we discovered chemistry, common joy of playing, and a mutual determination that the gig was not to be the last one. We hired a new bassist, as Claus was leaving for Holland. Since then, we've had two bassists; Jacob is the band's 4th and current bassist.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
About two years ago, self-penned material by Lukasz and Morten really began to surface. We started rehearsing it, eventually tried out the first few songs live, and things evolved from there: in June of 2002, Maroon played its very first own acoustic Maroon concert at Studenterhuset in Odense - Denmark. Maroon's music is rock, with the melody and the vocals forming the core. The occasional Pearl Jam cover pops up at our live shows, however, but we mainly play our own material. Maroon has a good five years' worth of live experience, rocking an audience, and delivering 2-3 hours of intense, intimate and incinerating rock songs!
Your musical influences
Maroon was initially a cover band for about two years, playing mostly rock songs by artists such as Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and Coldplay.
