Hi, I'm Ryan. I won't bore you with all the details of my life; In short, I'm 19 and I'm a sophomore at UMD.
I'm not really in a "band," but I do jam with people and am open to the possibility of turning that into a "real" band.
Not yet.
Here they are, in no particular order:
-Metallica (Old more than new)
-Megadeth
-Slayer
-System of a Down
-Black Sabbath
-Iron Maiden
-Led Zeppelin
-Pantera
-A Perfect Circle
-Smashing Pumpkins
-Zwan
-Nirvana
-The Dillinger Escape Plan
-Meshuggah
-Opeth
-Judas Priest
-AC/DC
-Stemage / Any of his work
-Children of Bodom
-In Flames (Old more than new)
For guitar:
-Jackson RR5 Rhoads or Squier Showmaster (Stock electronics) Guitars
-Boss MT-2 Metal Master distortion pedal (I find myself using this less and less in recording, but more and more when just fucking around with my guitar)
-Peavy 112 Bandit II guitar amplifier
-Various cables (I like monster but they're expensive)
For bass:
-Yamaha RBX-775
(For now I go direct in with the bass, college kids need to save money and since I don't play it in a band there's no reason for me to buy an amp)
On the recording side:
-Fruity Loops software drum machine
-Adobe Audition recording software
-Delta 66 soundcard
-Omni I/O external soundcard interface
-Shure SM57 microphone
I record by putting the SM57 in front of the amp on a mic stand, pointing the mic downwards directly towards the center of the amp.
It's pretty crappy gear right now, but without more money I'm pretty much stuck with it, and I don't feel like working :)
