this band is not and will never be about music, entertainment, looking cool, sounding good or anything one might expect. you can look up our name and the definition will tell you that we are about one thing, and that is Jesus Christ. a lot of bands have come and gone, claiming to be or hiding from the blunt yet sketchy label of christian music, but rarely exhibiting the stamina and lasting drive that is to be expected of someone or something claiming to have a worthwhile purpose. last advent exists as a means to break down those walls that are seperating the message of Christ from mainstream media. we have all decided that the best way to accomplish this goal is through honesty.
the honest truth is this, in plain fact: Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and lived the only perfect life. He was not only killed, but first beaten until His body was unrecognizable and suffered death atthe hands of one of the most painful and excruciating methods of execution possible crucifixion. a very real God became a very real human being just like you and went through all of this for us.
we exist as a band because Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again for your justification.

the band started around five years ago as a ska-core group called 'using water wizely', which later developed into a rap-rock outfit. after that, the band went straight rock&roll and changed their name to 'family wagon' with the original members [matt, kyle, jared] in it. they added some members and changed their name to lifetoChrist, and that was the name for a long time. with addition of their drummer bud, the current lineup was complete. in the spring of 2004, the name was changed to last advent.
yes we play live. wherever we want. we love it. there are many special moments.
we play a cross between post-hardcore, post-emo indie rock and pop with some metalcore breakdowns. got all that?
jared uses shure microphones. matt uses agile guitars [as soon as he can afford one, for now he has a crappy ibanez], b-52 amps and peavy cabinets with ev speakers. kyle uses an ibanez bass, galien-krueger amps with an ampeg 8x10 cabinet [which is to say that he is buying one as soon as he gets back from vacation]. bud uses drums that you have never heard of, vintage zildjian cymbals, cheap drumsticks and part of a sunshell from a nissan maxima transmission.
